| Water Park Near Akbuk - Didim Aqua Park |
This local attraction is relatively close to the holiday resort of Akbuk (as well as Altinkum) and can be reached by taxi, by transport arranged with one of the tourist operators in the village centre of Akbuk, or by taking two buses. If you have chosen to hire a car whilst here in Turkey you could also just take the small drive over to the water park, it being approximately a 30 minute drive from Akbuk's central area.
It's not just the kids that can enjoy this water park, it has facilities and attractions that will suit all ages - whether you want to scare yourself on the water slides, have a dance in the showers under the "sun dance" attraction, have a leisurely day out swimming, or just sunbathing - Didim Water Park is a great thing to do and take in whilst on holiday in this lovely part of Turkey.
You will find there are several water slides in this aqua park, some gentle, some middle-ground, and some that are breathtaking... you have been warned!
There is also a wave pool, plenty of rubber rings to just float about on, nice gardens, and some lovely sunbathing areas with amenities.

If you decide to have a day out and spend some time in the water park make sure you take some suitable footwear with you. The paths and walk ways in this water park get really hot, and especially so in the peak summer months when temperatures really soar in Turkey. Flip flops, trainers, croc's, any of these are fine and will prevent you from burning your feet on the hot ground.
Drinks and food - it is not permitted for you to bring food and drinks into the water park. Apart from bottles of water and the odd snack such as bags of crisps, you will need to buy them here. The prices of food and drinks are not too bad, and are about the same as you would expect to pay at any type of outdoor tourist attraction. The range of drinks, ice creams, and food is quite good too, you can buy pizza, burgers - all the usual types of fast food that kids love, but also a good range of salads and hot meals. Alcoholic drinks though are an exception - these can be quite costly if purchased in the aqua park.
Towels - we recommend you take your own towels, you can rent a towel here but its more convenient to take your own as well as helping you identify your sun lounger from the many that are situated in the water park..
Sun cream - this is a must, as in places of the park you are totally exposed to the hot Aegean sun. Don't forget to take a hat, shirt / top, and clothing to cover-up when needed too.
Lockers - there are lockers that you can use whilst enjoying a day out in the Didim Water Park. These are rented on a daily basis for a small fee. They are ideal for storing items of clothing, and anything else that you don't want to carry around with you whilst making the most of the park. If you have never been to this particular water park before we recommend you rent one as soon as you enter the park, this is because they are based near the main entrance and away from most of the water rides.
Safety - the Didim water park that is within easy reach of the resort of Akbuk offers a fun filled day out for people of all ages, and if you choose to visit this tourist attraction whilst on holiday in Turkey we are sure you'll enjoy it! It is one of our recommended "things to do" whilst on holiday here....
With regards to safety in the water park - please pay attention to the usual things, after all - you are in Turkey and not on holiday in the UK! Look out for damaged tile edges here and there in the swimming pools, cracks or sharp edges on the paths or walk-ways, and be careful and safe whilst on the rides - don't go on any ride that you think you are unsuitable for - especially if you have any existing medical conditions or weaknesses. Some of the really fast rides are not suitable for the very young or elderly - but this won't stop them having fun, there is something for everyone at the water park in Didim.
